What is a hair transplant?

Types of hair transplants
There are mainly two types of hair transplant

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)
In FUE hair transplantation technique individual hair follicles taken from the donor area one by one with the help of a small specialised machine. This process takes a few hours and it does not hurt after giving a few injections.
In both hair transplant method remaining procedure is the same. After giving local anaesthetic injections in bald area tiny sites are created with the help of fine blades and needles. Extracted hair follicles are then placed in the sites on the bald area.
FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation)
In FUT hair transplantation technique (strip procedure) an entire strip of hair is removed from the donor area. The strip of hair follicles is separated by grafts which contain one or two hair follicles.
Same as the FUE technique, after giving local anaesthetic injections in bald area tiny sites are created with the help of fine blades and needles. These follicular unit grafts are then placed in the sites on the bald area in a single session.
